Holiday Romance

Holiday Romance~

First Night~ They Meet...

Her brown- eyed beauty,
His angel-smile,
He sits beside her leaning forward,
Fairylights twinkle
as music mingles,
in the bar that Friday night.

A vibrant flower with petals crimson,
reaches over to share their moment,
His lips brush hers,
Their warmth surrounds them,
Guarding against the evening chill.

Bats encircle as shadows dance,
her skin like velvet,
their fingertips touching.
His voice is gentle and yet he is strong,
Energy flows like oceans between them.

Backwards and forwards,
So new and refreshing,
They drink in this moment,
He holds her awhile,
Her brown-eyed, beauty,
His angel smile.

The Next Meeting~

They listen to some music,
playing on the CD,
"Especially for you and me."
he says as he drives along.
'Baby, baby, baby'
Feelings filter through her...
" Do you know,
I think I love you?"

Clouds collect above them,
Far on the horizon,
Separate rain-storms crashing,
Lightning strikes the sea.

Shelter in a gallery,
see what others fail to see.
She spots a card that speaks to her,
and she knows he hears it too.

Music it excites him, shall they go and hear some?
he would watch her dancing,
then of course he'd kiss her.

Look at the wind,
as it blows that tree,
Something they don't often see....
Silver underneath
each leaf,
Shimmers aloft continually.

Exchanging all their kisses,
Soft and tender kisses,
Hot and full of passion,
May they last forever.

He takes in every detail,
even how she's standing,
Pulls her to him
to explore
Something he sees as beauty.
As he glances at her,
she keeps her thoughts unspoken,
Feels the passion, feels the strength,
radiating from him.

And Then What?

Choose themselves a sandwich,
sitting at a table,
Sunlight gently warms them,
settled by the window.
Milkshake made with strawberries,
juicy, fragrant strawberries,
they both drink them through a straw,
enjoying all their flavour.

On a bench they face the sea,
Witness all there is to see....
Years hence will they both return,
watching the waves as they crash and churn.

The Next Day~

He said,
" There's a house,
Number 29
Imagine that it's yours and mine,
Fill it up with hopes and dreams,
Happiness in reams and reams."

Cutting through an alleyway,
On this very lovely day,
Look ahead, they see the sea,
What a perfect place to be.

By the train- track,
Climb the stairs,
Wind it pummels through her hair,
he holds her closer,
Time stands still....

Hers is wild, it bobs around,
his is perfect, like a crown.
A lock of hair obscures her lips,
he drinks her in with tiny sips.

Later That Evening~

He parks his car,
The engine dies,
She scans the contours of his face,
Her heart it beats at a faster pace.

" Did you know 'Revolver' was filmed in my home county?
Bay Lake is in Florida, I saw it at the cinema!"

Phones bring them together,
She gives him her number,
" When you call me, I'll be there, speaking right beside you."

In the hotel room he makes some tea,
it cools as they embrace.

In her mind the turbines,
Impressive and imposing,
harness power from the wind,
Confidently turning....

The Next Morning~

She says:
"See that tiny island,
purple in the distance?
Maybe people living there are looking at our shoreline?"

He replies:
" See those stripy beach huts?
If only one were open....
We could crawl in,
Spend some time,
 just lying close together."

Wind it skims the water,
Sets the waves a-dancing,
Throws seaspray into the air,
mingles with the raindrops.

Flying on their kiteboards,
Skipping on the water,
Just like that, they are filled with joy,
Two people in their element.

All Good Things Come To An End~

All their thoughts a-jumble,
but they want to keep them,
So- in turn, they write them down,
So they'll last forever.
